Funeral services for Deacon Robert West, owner of West’s Mortuary, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005 at New Hope Baptist Church in Montezuma with Reverend Bobby Brown officiating. He was born February 10, 1910 in Macon County, GA, son of Will and Bessie Engram West and grandson of John and Mary West. In 1935 he returned to Montezuma and married Mozell Crawl. He established West’ Mortuary in 1946. On February 3, 1596 he married Thelma Walker. He died Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Macon Northside Hospital. Survivors are his children, Gwendolyn West Wyatt of Atlanta, Robert Eric West of Americus and Thelma Denise West of Montezuma; his brothers, Frederick (Gwendolyn) West of Jackson and Edgar West of Montezuma; grandchildren, Roderick Wyatt, Clinton (Cheryl) Wyatt and Deidra (Walter) Jefferson of Atlanta, 6 great grandchildren, a sister in law, Mildred Watlker of Hogansville, brother in law, Harden Ragin of Americus, an aunt, Estella West of Montezuma; step brothers and step sisters, Anna B Woolford, Amos whitehead, Euis Brazil, Mazell McKenzie and Irene Johnson; nieces and nephews, James, Bessie Linda, Vernita, Gerald, Yolanda, Tony, Ann, Tony, Larry, Lillian, Jacqueline, Virginia and George; a cousin, Hubert West. |
