James M Simms, Jr, of 5302 Baebern Street, Columbus, GA, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the Medical Center in Columbus. He was born April 25, 1968 in Baltimore, MD, son of Mrs Maxine Brice Simms of Columbus and James M Simms Sr. He was a 1986 graduate of Spencer High School and earned a BS Degree in 1996 in Criminal Justice and Sociology from the University of GA. He was employed with Swift Denim as a security gurard and was a Baptist. Survivors include his parents, a brother, Donald W Williams, Jr of Columbus; a grandfather, R D Fortson; 4 aunts, Brenda Fortson, Carrie Simms, Theresa Simms and Patricia Simms; 7 uncles, Calvin Fortson, Irvin Fortson, Clarence Fortson, Moses Fortson, Wilbert Simms, John Simmas and Joseph Simms, all of Baltimore, MD. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2007 in the chapel of Progressive Funeral Home. Reverend Michael Heath will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
