She was born December 6, 1919 in Montgomery, AL, daughter of leonidas H and Clara Alexander Shipp. She was a 1936 graduate of Spencer High School and was employed at Modern Barber Shop and Edmond Farley Realty Company. She was a member of First African Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles O Walker Sr and 7 siblings, L H Shipp Jr, M C SHipp, Eddie Shipp, Lydia Colvin, Clara Harris, Louella Walker and Eva Harvey. Survivors include her son, Charles O walker, Jr of Lutz, FL; 3 granddaughters, Jacqueline Walker of Fayetteville, NC, Gwendolyn Walker of Atlanta, GA, and Lisa W Chesly of Fayetteville, NC; a grandson, Charles O (Claudia) Walker III of Greensboro, NC; 4 great grandchildren, Megan and Heather Chesly of Fayetteville, Charles O walker IV and Carmen Walker of Greensboro; a daughter in law, Faustina Walker of Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, February 24, 2007 at First African Baptist Church with Reverend Marcus Hunter officiating. Reverend Robert Dickerson will deliver the eulogy and burial will be in Porterdale Cemetery.
