Funeral services for Mrs. Callie Knighton, 902 Anderson Street, who died Saturday, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the chapel of Barnum Funeral Home with Reverend Eugene Grover officiating and burial in Eastview cemetery. Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Ozie Harris, Mrs. Geneva Hunt, Mrs. Ollie Mae Hartage, Americus, Mrs. Marie Thomas, Salisbury, MD and Mrs. Mattie Sue Fluellen, Eastman; sisters, Mrs. Willie Mae Clark, Americus and Mrs. Eddie Lu Lockhart, Perth Amboy, NJ; brothers, G D Chambliss, Belleglade, FL, Little Chambliss and George Chambliss of New York City; 23 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 sisters in law, Mrs. Ollie Gant and Mrs. Willie Mae Powell, Americus; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Costella Knighton will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Friendship Baptist Church with Reverend Melvin McCluster officiating. He was born May 2, 1943 in Sumter County, son of Jeff and Ora Mae Brown Knighton. He was reared by Hiawatha Colbert Sr. In 1964 he wed Ms Ethel Robinson, his widow. In 1961 he moved to Detroit and lived ther over 30 years and was employed by General Motors. He later moved to Hartford, CT and lived ther 15 years. Then he moved to Atlanta and moved on back to Americus, living with his niece and nephew, Christopher (Linda) Banks. He died Thursday, April 20, 2006. Survivors include his mother who lives in Morrow, GA, his 3 sisters and 3 brothers: Minister Annie Ruth Knighton Crumbley of Americus, Mrs Joann (Richard) Brown of Hartford, CT, Mrs Kaye Crumbley of Morrow, Larry Colbert of Stone Mountain, Samuel Colbert of Hartford, Hiawatha Colbert Jr of Ideal, GA. A brother, Bobbie (Addie) Colbert Sr preceded him in death. Two aunts, Mrs Ollie Knighton Gant and Mrs Willie Knighton Powell of Americus.
