Burial will be in Staley Memorial Gardens. He was a retired porter with Seaboard Coastline Railroad with 40 years service. He was a deacon at Union Tabernacle Baptist Church for 46 years. Survivors include his wife, Elsie; 2 daughters, Mrs Tommie Pritchard of Phenix City, AL and Mrs Elizabeth Fisk of Wellsville, OH; 2 sons, Andrew Jackson of Pittsview, AL and Frank Scott of Fort Lauderdale, FL; a sister, Mrs Etta Mae Coleman of Baltimore, MD; 3 brothers, Price Jackson of Americus, GA, John Jackson of Pittsview, AL, and Jimmie Jackson of Baltimore, MD and a daughter in law, Mrs Leara Scott of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

He was a US Army veteran; served in Korean War. He was a member of Union Hil A.M.E. Church in Ellaville, GA. He retired with 31 years service with Civil Service and was a plumbing contractor. He was prceded in death by 2 sons, Dwight Jackson and Matthew Jackson. Survivors include his wife, Barbara A Jackson of Columbus, GA, 2 sons, Carl Jackson of Brooklyn, NY and James C (Jacqueline) Jackson Jr of Fort Lauderdale, FL; 3 daughters, Barbara L Jackson, Melissa A (Jimmie) Hefflin and Charice J Palm of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Neppie (Henry L) Thompson of Rushville, IN, Christine Terry of Ellaville and Marian Kea of Akron, OH. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2007 at Union Hill A.M.E. Church in Ellaville, GA with Reverend Tanisha Hayes officiating. He was a member of 24th Sreet Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elvira Johnson. SUrvivors include 3 sons, Elder Johnny B Jackson, Larry (Delores) Jackson, Ronnie (Angela) Jackson; his daughter, Patricia (David) Jackson of Columbus; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; a great niece, Stefferella (Harrison) Carson. FUneral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at the 24th Street Baptist Church with Reverend Xavier Maddox officiating. Burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery.
