Mrs Helen Pauline Riggs Harris, 85, died Monday, June 8, 1998 at Bulloch Memorial Hospital in Statesboro, GA. She was a member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church and retired in 1976 from the Northside School, Bulloch County Board of Education. She taught at Waynesboro High School, Peabody High School in Eastman, GA and at Carver High School in Dawson, GA. She lived in Americus, GA from 1954 to 1972 and taught at McCoy Hill School and Eastview Elementary School. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, John William Harris of Statesboro, GA; nieces, Carol Williams of Chesapeake, VA, Roxie Riggs Harris and Grace Riggs Coiter of Hartford, CT and Patricia Riggs of Bronx, NY; nephews, George Riggs of Bronx, NY and Harold Williams of Chesapeake, VA; Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 1998 at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, with Reverend Patrick Jones officiating. Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
