He earned his BS degree from Albany State University and taught at Perry, Northease and Westside Emementary Schools. He served as principal of Reese Park and taught at Central Jr High School and was assistant principal at Staley High School. Survivors include his mother, 3 sons, Kent (Regina) Franklin, Berlin (Ethel) Franklin, Joe H (Miriam) Franklin, Elder Larry (Peggy) Franklin, Jackie (Rose) Franklin and Sammie (Diane) Franklin; 2 sisters, Dorothy (Gordon) Crosby and Betty Goins; 7 grandchildren and an aunt, Retha Golden.
